About me
Jennifer Taylor is President and CEO of the Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC), where she leads one of the largest regional technology councils in the nation with a mission to accelerate innovation and promote world class workforce development. NVTC is the trade association representing the National Capital Region’s vibrant technology community and serves organizations from all sectors of the industry, from small businesses and startups to Fortune 100 companies, service providers, academic institutions, and nonprofit organizations.
Nearly 500 member companies make up the NVTC membership and look to the organization as a resource for networking and educational opportunities, peer-to-peer communities, policy advocacy, industry promotion, fostering of strategic relationships, and branding of the region as a major global technology center.
Since taking the helm of NVTC in 2020, under her leadership, her team has grown the membership over 80% to nearly 500 members, increased member engagement to over 5,500 professionals annually, increased net assets over 400%, modernized operations, completed and implemented a five-year strategic plan, and launched impactful workforce initiatives such as Aim High.
Taylor has 35 years of experience working for non-profits including the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), AARP, and the American Red Cross in business development and revenue growth roles. While at the CTA, Taylor served as Vice President of Industry Affairs. She engaged with its 2,000 member companies and launched CTA’s 21st Century Workforce Council, the Apprenticeship Coalition, and the Diversity & Inclusion Working Group to help the tech sector mitigate the nation’s skills gap, increase awareness of the growing number of high-skilled tech jobs, and build a fully-equipped, diverse and inclusive national workforce.
Taylor holds degrees from the University of Michigan and George Mason University. In August 2024, she was named to the Virginia Power 500 by Virginia Business magazine and recognized as one of the 50 Most Influential People in Northern Virginia for 2024 by Northern Virginia Magazine.
